Wie het mountainbike parcours Bergen/Schoorl gaat doen met een huurfiets, moet bij dit familiebedrijf huren. Dit wordt gerund door een vriendelijk stel, die de fietsen goed onderhouden. Het bedrijfje ligt op ongeveer een kilometer afstand van het van het parcours net buiten het centrum van Bergen.
En als enige in omgeving zijn zij, zo nu en dan, bereid mountainbikes te verhuren als het nat is. Het liefst wel van te voren reserveren.

Deze sportschool is niet zo heel groot en heeft voor de ervaren fitnesser misschien een te klein assortiment aan aparaten. Desondanks is de prijs overtuigend: E15.95 p/maand (voor jaarcontract) en het assortiment is voor mij meer dan genoeg. Oh ja, alles is lekker nieuw hier .

When I was told Cafe Belgique wasn't the smallest pub in Amsterdam, I thought I was having my leg pulled. I wasn't. Doktortje is definitely smaller. I reckon you could get four of them into my front room

My brown-scale-ometer went right off the end of the dial I soon as I entered. Black would be a better description. I wonder if they've ever thought of redecorating? The assembled junk on the walls has been there so long that it mostlymerges into the background. The only picture where I could discern anything portayed a dray. Couldn't see which brewery, mind.

The name - "Little Doctor" - refers to its time in the 18th century as a sampling room for medicinal herbal drinks. No doubt the alcoholic content of these was responsible for most of the preceived benefits.

Somehow, they manage to serve a full mealin this tiny place. Only one choice, but expecting more really would be taking the piss.

Karpershoek sits on the corner of Marterlaarsgracht, right opposite Centraal Station. I've often ridden past on a tram and looked at its, rather modest, sign claiming to be "one of the oldest" pubs in Amsterdam. For twenty years or abouts. And never gone in. I had been missing out on a boozer that merits inclusion for several reasons.

Dating from 1606, its oldest pub claim seems quite sound. Go inside and it's easy to believe. It oozes character from every floorboard. All the esssential elements of a classic bown café are there: woodwork whose original shade is impossible to determine, a seemingly random collection of old artefacts and prints scattered around and a chirpy Amsterdammer behind the bar. Talking of Amsterdammers, they have placed between the door and bar counter. Not the human kind, of course. I mean one of the metal bollards (marked with the city's trademark 3 X's) that stop motorists parking even more irresponsibly than they usually do.

For its location, it seems remarkably well-frequented by the human sort of Amsterdammer. Quite an achievement down at tourist central.

The ten or so bottled beers make up for the crappy draught selection. Especially the price of the bottled beers. The price list - very honestly on large display outside - says €2.25 for "foreign beer". I thought that would be the price of the cheapest. My gob was totally smacked when that's all I was charged for a Westmalle Tripel. That's the cheapest you'll find it in town. Anything under €3 is a good deal. Oddly, a bolleke of Koninck costs more - €3.

The Jordaan is renowned for its ur-gemütlich brown cafes, though I must admit to sometimes having trouble tracking them down. How I could have missed this one, right on the Noordermarkt, for so long, I can't imagine. I could do without the carpets on the table, but I'll forgive that for its multitude of other positive qualities: ancient leaded glass, no music, locals reading the paper or joking with each other, themeless decoration. Above all else, I love the feeling that its present form has only emerged after 60 or 100 years of slow evolution.

If that isn't enough for you, it has a lovely view of the Noorderkerk and seats outside to let you to admire it at your leisure. The mature trees that line the square give you a better than even chance of even getting some shade (always a priority of mine, heliophobe that I am). Note too, the very long opening hours, kicking off early enough for you to have a breakfast brandy.

It's nice and quiet in here at the moment (Monday early evening), with just enough buzz of conversation to stop me feeling uncomfortable about the noise my pen is making. Where was I? Quiet now, market day - jacked out. That was it. When there's a market on Noordermarkt, it's standing room only. So select your visiting time accoding to your taste in matters of crowdiness.

The beer selection is, to say the least, idiosyncratic. Two pilsners and two witbiers seems like unnecessary duplication. You would expect one stronger beer like Chouffe or a Dubbel. Maybe I just called when one of the beers was off.

If you are looking for a big and beautifully furnished Irish pub right in the city centre, O’Reilly’s is the place to be. This pub is divided in different sections, therefore it has a cosy feeling although a lot of people fit in. Every area has its own TV sets, so you can watch all kind of sports while enjoying a drink and some great food.

Very nice hotel in the center of the city, with a lot of nice bars and restaurants near by. the atmosphere was a little "cold", and it was a little expansive (i've paid 130E without breakfast, but it was a very hot week), but the room was really comfortable, and it had the BIGGEST BED i've ever seen: really great for s*x!! This hotel is very good for young people, and for everybody who travels to have fun, without pretending to kill the hotel staff for all their needs.

People on a budget should avoid the dress-code conscious CDLC. Prices are high and so is the snob factor at this achingly cool bar on the edge of the beach. The VIP section is a favorite of famous soccer players but if you want to join them on the comfortable-looking white chill-out beds, you'll have to buy a 120€ ($150) bottle of spirits. It has a fairly large outside terrace for passersby to gawk at the beautiful people. The trendy night is Sunday, when chill-out music plays early (around 11pm) for those cool enough to not have to wake up first thing on Monday.

That said, it's a nice place to boogie among the bright young things, and the VIP lounge is open to anyone willing to splash out on champagne.

Festive and elegant, 7 Portes been around since 1836, making it one of the oldest restaurants in Barcelona. Pretty much anybody who is anybody has dined here over the years. While these days it's more touristy than aristocratic, there is still enough authentic charm left in the decor (and patrons) to make it well worth the visit. The white-aproned staff members are constantly on the go, which in some ways makes it feel like an upmarket canteen. There is nothing slap-dash about the food, though: Regional dishes include fresh herring with onions and potatoes, a different paella daily (sometimes with shellfish, for example, or with rabbit), and a wide array of fresh fish, expertly deboned and skinned at the table. This modern and spacious three-floor restaurant provides quite an intimate setting. It is decorated in an avant-garde and creative way, full of colour and very youthful. The dishes are of a similar style, and they'll surprise you with a touch of sweet-and-sour flair—try the Chicken Lasagne with Prawns and Dates. The home-made desserts are also quite innovative. A vegetarian set menu and a mixed menu is available on weekdays, at lunchtime. Saturdays feature a more elaborate lunch menu. The selection of wines is just right, with a nice range of reds from Rioja and other roses.

Pub / Bar perfect for watching some sport, having a drink and perhaps a game of darts. It’s large enough so you don’t get the usual crush like in some of the more central pubs. Also there are 10 types of beer on tap and more than 18 bottled beers.

As you might have guessed it isn’t hard to find good bars in Barcelona. The varied Bar scene in Barcelona is one of the things that makes this city so special.

Grote hippe wintersport zaak met leuke sfeer en een apres-ski bar! Zeker langsgaan als je nog iets nodig hebt.

Deze zaak zit tijdelijk in de Schiehallen, als je daar niet mee bekend bent is het erg lastige te vinden. Als je over de Schieweg rijd (water links van je), pak je de eerste afslag direct na de Praxis. Deze afslag loopt langs de achterkant van de Schiehallen. De ingang tot de prakijk is voorbij de recepcie de eerste trap.

Een van die zaken waar je na een avond 'drinken' nog iets vasts naar binnen kan werken.

Brik-fit heeft erg degelijke tweedehandsfietsen. Alle fietsen worden royaal gebrandmerkt met een herkenbare kleur (volgens mij wordt er een emmer verf tegenaan gegooid). Assortiment is divers maar toen ik er was karig (slechts 1 herenfiets, a +/- E100-). Openingstijden zijn erg studentikoos (ma-vr: 09:15-12:00, 13:00-15:00), en kun je weinig mee als arbeider. Vandaar dat 80% van de klandizie student is.

Sportzaak met nadruk op hardlopen. Personeel heeft veel verstand van zaken en nemen echt de tijd voor je. Is dan wel weer een nadeel als er mensen je voor zijn.

Koop al mijn hardware hier, ze hebben veel op voorraad en de service is erg goed.

Professionele zaak, behulpzaam naar naar doe-het-zelvers, hebben veel onderdelen en sinds kort een langetermijn opslag/parkeer gelegenheid voor klassieke Volkswagens.

Dit is een super-tokko. Veel goede ervaringen mee, aanrader: de Tsja-Sieuw (fonetisch)...

Zeer bekende wijnandel (in Delft). Heeft een kleine winkel die 19e eeuws aan doet. Is daardoor toeristisch maar wel authentiek. Het wijn assortiment is erg divers, en mocht je zelf geen verstand van wijn hebben dan kunnen ze met een paar gerichte vragen een wijn voor je uitzoeken.

Pas op voor je hoofd als je naar binnen stapt!

Bakkerij is een van de vele Bierhuizen in Delft. Zelf bakt dit bakkertje geen vers brood, maar het word 's ochtends wel vers aangeleverd. Ruim assortiment: waldkorn, schwartzwald, pandabrood, maisbrood, vikorn etc. Veder nog soorten bolletjes, chocolade en snacks (uienstok).

Deze supermarkt doet zijn naam eer aan want het is voor Nederlandse begrippen echt een kleine supermartkt. Hij heeft toch een goed assortiment; alle basics zijn er en achter ligt nog meer.

De winkel heeft regelmatig speciale aanbiedingen. Zo is er iedere zondag ochtend vers turks stokbrood en 's avonds geroosterde kippetjes.

De openingstijden zijn verbazingwekkend, omdat de winkel door een persoon gerunt wordt. Door de week sluit hij om 22:00 en zaterdag ook geloof ik. Op maandag daarentegen is hij geloten.

Een prima delicatessen zaak met ruim assortiment aan kaas en wijn. Hiernaast kun je salades, vleeswaren en tappas halen die een stuk lekkerder en verser zijn dan in de supermarkt.

Deze delicatessen zaak verzorgen ook de hapjes op feesten.

Ayer's Rock heeft een geweldige binnen en buitenklim faciliteit. Binnen is de hal zo'n 20 meter biedt ruimte voor zo'n 10 klimmers tegelijk.

Ayers Rock ligt in het Buytenpark, Zoetermeer. Dit park is een uitstekende locatie voor active en avontuurlijke buitenmensch. Het park is groot, heuvelachtig en bebost, dus je kunt er prima mountain biken. Fietsen kun je huren bij Ayers Rock. Zeker een aanrader.

Zojuist geopende schoenenzaak aan het Bastiaanplein. De tweede Van Dalen in Delft. De zaak ik zo nieuw dat de verlichting nog niet in orde is en de website http://www.vandalenschoenen.nl/winkels.htm, nog geen vermelding heeft van de zaak. Het telefoonummer is nog niet bekend, het nummer dat je hier ziet is van de zaak op de Wijnhaven.

America Today is vandaag geopend in Delft. Je vindt er jeans, shirts en sweaters. Er is een prijsvraag waar je een slogan moet afmaken, winnaar ontvangt een scooter.

Personeel is erg behulpzaam en hebben veel kennis van zaken. Dus als jij ongeveer weet wat je nodig hebt kunnen zij je dat precies vertellen.

Dit restaurant is zeker een aanrader voor iedereen die zijn boot aanlegd in Makkum. Het eten is smakelijk en je betaald daar zeker niet te veel voor.
De bediening/service is ook erg klantvriendelijk. Toen ik er was waren ze niet te beroerd om ons (6 personen) een ontbijt voor de volgende morgen mee te geven (wij plannden met onze boot te vertrekken voor winkelopeningstijden).

Fietsenmaker de wolf is de enige die ook fietsenmakers opleid in delft. er wordt alleen gehandeld in nieuwe fietsen.

Personeel heeft inderdaad verstand van zaken. helaas gebeurd het wel eens dat daar lang op mag wachten.
