Since 1951, McGonigle’s has been a Kansas City staple. From humble beginnings, Bill McGonigle, the original founder, took a corner grocery store and created a destination for the best quality meat and seafood in the city. Throughout the decades, even when the new “supermarkets” put the pressure on small, local grocery stores, Bill used his experience in the family wholesale meat business, Burnett Meat Company, to maintain the highest of quality. He knew that the only way to survive was to specialize in only the finest quality meats. Now, with son, Mike McGonigle, at the helm and still in its original location, McGonigle’s Market is known for its high quality meats. Though the world has changed, and new challenges keep him on his toes, Mike has been able to keep the business thriving into its seventh decade!
